Evelyn R. Galli - Suchecki

Evelyn R. Galli -Suchecki, passed away peacefully, February 19, 2015, following a lengthy illness at the Sunrise Senior Living Center in Burlington where she has been resident for over two years. She was 98. Born in Boston she was one of eleven children of the late Gaetano and Dora (Madeline) DiGiovanni.

Evelyn lived most of her life in Woburn with her late husband Leo P. Suchecki where the couple raised their two sons. Evelyn worked for many years at the Winchester Wire and Belt Company. She enjoyed Florida vacations, cruises, many sports, but was a huge Red Sox fan for most of her life. Nine years following Leo's death, Evelyn married a long-time family friend, John A. Galli, and together they enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Italy. Evelyn greatest joy was her family and she especially cherished and enjoyed the holidays when she would be together with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her late parents and husbands, Evelyn is predeceased by her sisters, Mary Contestabile, Camille Falcione, Della Falcione, and Yolanda Contrada, brothers, Gregory, Julius, Pierino, James and Frederick DiGiovanni.

She is survived by her devoted sons, Richard Suchecki and his wife Nina of Cape Coral, FL, and Wayne Suchecki and his wife Virginia of Billerica. She was the loving grandmother of Mark, April, David, and Michael Suchecki. Loving great grandmother of Dante, Ryan, Mia, Austin, Riley and Gavin Suchecki. Sister of Lucy Frasca of Winthrop, formerly of Medford. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN Tuesday, February 24th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Barbara Church, 138 Cambridge Rd., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4 thru 7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
