Betty Marie Griggs
Augusta, GA – Betty Marie Haller Griggs, 85, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Golden Living- Augusta. She was born in Washington, DC, the loving daughter to the late Francis J. and Margaret Alsip Haller.
Our mother was a longtime resident of Greenbelt, MD. She moved to Augusta, GA in 2000 and lived at St. John Towers for 11 years before moving to Golden Living. She was a lover of all animals especially dogs. She enjoyed watching the news and sports, and listening to music.
She is survived by 3 loving daughters: Kathy Synan (Jeff) of Grovetown, GA, Bonnie Mims of Augusta, GA, Sandy McCray (Donnie) of Lothian, MD; grandchildren: Kim Masters (Chris), Vince Mathis, Stacy Olguin (Rocky), Anthony Mathis, Kelly Angeli (Aaron), Gregory Courville, Nicholas Griggs, Christopher Synan, Crystal Mims, Kerri Gilkerson, Melanie Gilkerson, Haley Chroniger, Austin Chroniger; and great grandchildren: Haley Mathis, Richard Mathis, Dayton Mathis, Alexis Mathis, Maddox Mathis, Noah Masters, Sofia Angeli, Elena Angeli, Marciano Olguin, Roman Olguin, Ryan David, Natalee David, Makayla Olguin, Taylor Masters, and Alaina Grace Kalos (due in March).
She is preceded in death by her husband of 17 years: James Francis Griggs; sister: Dorothy H. Rees; daughter: Leslie G. Courville; son: Carlton Griggs; son-in-law: Larry Mims; and grandson: Russell N. Synan.
The family gives special thanks to the staff of Golden Living and Pruitt Hospice for the loving care given to our mother and family.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
