Michael D. Hickey age 71 of Canton passed away February 16th at the Hellenic Nursing Home after a long illness. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in South Boston he attended Boston Public Schools. Mike and his family moved to Stoughton in his freshman year, and graduated from Stoughton High School Class of 1960. He married his high school sweetheart Peggy, they moved to Canton and together they raised their 3 daughters. Mike worked for Roxie’s and was the General Manager for the Outdoorsman in Hingham Harbor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and especially spending time with his family. He was a member of the Canton Fish & Game for many years. Beloved husband of 52 years of Margaret A. (Igo). Loving father of Michelle M. Powers & her husband Gary of Canton, Suzanne Ivanoski & her husband George of Mansfield and Stacey A. Walsh & her husband Kevin of Norton. Cherished grandfather of Kelli, Jennifer, Lindsay, Gary Jr., Amy, Michelle, Sean, Heather, Haley, and Jamie. Also survived by his great-granddaughter Teagan. He was the son of the late Henry & Dorothy Hickey. Brother of Richard Hickey of Hanson, James Hickey of Quincy, Joanne (Hickey) Frizzell of Middleboro, Patricia (Hickey) LaCivita of Norfolk and the late John B. Hickey. Also survived by his father in law James Igo of Canton and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Saturday morning at 10:30. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mike can be made to the Hellenic Nursing Home Women’s Benevolent Association 601 Sherman St. Canton, MA 02021.
