Mario A. “Marty” Rizzo, age 75, of Brockton, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 following a brief illness. He was the loving husband for 47 years of Catherine E. (Minahan) Rizzo. Mario was born in Boston, son of the late Augustino and Mildred (Colarusso) Rizzo. He resided in both Boston and Dorchester before moving to Brockton in 1970. He had served in the US Navy for several years in the 1960s.
For many years Mario owned and operated the Mop Shop Hair Salon in Brockton. He was an enthusiastic Boston sports fan and enjoyed trips to Twin Rivers. His true love in life was his family and he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Mario was the father of Danielle Corenchuk and her husband Daniel of Ft. Riley, KS, Mario Rizzo, (BFD) and his wife Donna of Brockton, Stephen Rizzo of Dorchester and Patrick Rizzo of Brockton; Grampy of Elizabeth, Ilsa, Liam, Anya, Brendan and Sebastian and Great Grampy of Bruce and Leo.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9am.
