Richard L. “Dick” Paquette, Jr. of Natick passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015 at the Metrowest Medical Center of Natick. He was fifty-seven years old.
Born in Abington, Massachusetts Dick graduated from Abington High School in 1975. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Lesley College.
After serving as an Applications Developer in IT Operations Management at AT&T for 17 years, Dick recently worked as a Report Analyst for Support Services at UHealth Solutions in Worcester.
Dick was a great husband and friend to his wife Maureen with whom he was happily married for 30 years. They enjoyed long weekends away together and traveling with lifelong friends. He was also a loving father to their children Richard and Katherine, who they raised in Natick.
As a dedicated family man, Dick enjoyed many summers with family and friends at the family cottage in White Horse Beach playing corn hole by day and tending bonfires by night, all while sharing stories and laughs with loved ones. He always looked forward to spending Sunday afternoon with his mom and dad and sisters in Abington.
Dick was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to Patriots games and tailgating with his friends. He enjoyed helping his daughter Katherine practice pitching and supported and cheered her on at her many softball games. He was involved in Natick Little League with his son Rich and then continued to coach for many years.
He also volunteered for several years for the Good Samaritans. Dick loved woodworking and hand crafting fine furniture. He spent countless hours in his workshop happily building many treasured pieces for his home, his friends, and the family cottage at White Horse Beach.
Dick was loved by many, and will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate to have been graced with his caring and loving spirit.
He was the cherished son of Richard L. and Esther T. (Cook) Paquette of Abington and son-in-law of Dorothy Manning of Natick and the late Patrick J. Manning.
Brother of Nancy Freitas and her husband Don of NH, Jane Western and her husband Dennis of NH, Lori Brand and her husband Stephen of Brockton, Linda Tomyl of FL and the late Joann Paquette.
Brother-in-law of Eileen Manning-Merritt of Framingham, Tricia Houde and her husband Rob of Danvers, Kate Manning of Plymouth, Pauline Manning of VT and Dorothy Costello and her husband Richie of CA. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park St., at Natick Common on Friday, February 20th at 9:00AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, 44 E. Central St., Natick at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
Visiting hours in the funeral home Thursday from 4:00-8:00PM. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick.
