Obituary


WEBSTER – Thomas F. “Red” Meagher, 80, died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Lanessa Extended Care after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Leatrice M. (Spahl) Meagher; 4 daughters, Sharon L. Newkirk of Webster, Laurie J. & her husband Peter Nowosadko of Dudley, LeeAnn & her husband Robert Celko of Fiskdale, Carolyn J. & her husband Leon Parrott of Woodstock, CT; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a brother Gerald & his wife Loretta Meagher of Southbridge; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Klea R. Nowosadko, a brother, Donald T. Meagher and 2 sisters, Joan Meagher and Kathleen Beaulac.
He was born in Webster, a son of Thomas B. and Loretta B. (Barrett) Meagher and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Saint Louis High School Class of 1954.
Mr. Meagher owned and operated the Tatnuck Square Shell Station in Worcester retiring in 1982. He enjoyed traveling, bus trips and smoking cigars poolside. He also enjoyed hosting large annual fourth of July cookouts where the drinks flowed and the food was endless featuring horseshoe and Bocce tournaments.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, February 17, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be private. A calling period will be from 9:00 to 10:30 AM Tuesday, February 17, in the funeral home.
