Gertrude N. (Bumpus) Bradley, 90, of East Walpole died peacefully at Sunrise in Norwood on February 11. She was the wife of the late Albert E. Bradley for 60 years until his death in 2006.
Born in Boston, July 6, 1924, the daughter of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Gammons) Bumpus, Mrs. Bradley was raised in Roslindale and lived in East Walpole for 54 years.
Trudy was a data entry clerk at Factory Mutual in Norwood for many years. After leaving Factory Mutual she served as the secretary for the Town of Walpole Veterans Agent and Animal Control officer for several years before retiring.
She was an avid reader and loved crocheting and trips to Cape Cod. Her family recalls with great fondness her Cowboy Cookies, fudge, lasagna, meatballs, and pumpkin bread.
She is survived by her children, Peter A. Bradley and his wife Nancy of Norwood, Carol Bradley Johnson of Arlington, Va., David F. Bradley and his wife Carol of Wrentham, Paul R. Bradley of Carrboro, N.C., Albert E. Bradley III and his wife Susan of Rochester, N.Y., and Robert R. Bradley and his wife Anne of Sandwich.
She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Barbara Palmer of Yarmouth, Patricia Rosenberger of Pembroke Pines, Fla. and her sister-in-law Esther Bumpus of Plymouth.
She was the loving grandmother of Alexander, Andrew, and Benjamin Bradley, Benjamin and Kathryn Johnson, Michael and Megan Bradley, and Brian and Carolyn Bradley. She was great-grandmother of Wendy and Harry Bradley, Serafina Bradley and Levi Bradley.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 19 from the Ginley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole at 9:15 followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00.
Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Visiting hours at the Ginley Funeral Home will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
