Frana Raftery, 90, in Abington, formerly of Weymouth, went home to be with the Lord on February 12, 2015. Born on the island of Korcula, in the former Yugoslavia, Mrs. Raftery immigrated, as a child, to Australia and then, in 1946, to the United States as a war bride.
Wife of the late Martin Raftery, she is survived by her sisters, Maria Zaborowski (her twin) of Wisconsin, Myra Zanetich and Tonia Salecich, both of Australia. She is also survived by daughters Kathleen Hylan and husband, Paul of South Weymouth, Susan Mills of Hanson, and Anne Thompson and husband William of South Weymouth, along with her son
Thomas Raftery of Cape Cod. Mrs. Raftery is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be private at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home, 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) S. Weymouth.
