Fairhaven – Armando F. Martins, age 87, passed away on February 11, 2015 at Royal Nursing Home of Fairhaven. He was the loving Husband of Maria C. (Varao) Martins and the son of the late Rosa F. (DeMello) and Francisco Martins.
Born in Dartmouth, he lived in this area most of his life and worked as a Mechanic at Berkshire Hathaway and a Machine Operator at American Flex conduit for many years until his retirement.
His family includes 2 children: Armand Martins and his wife, Diane, of Fairhaven and Rose Carter of New Bedford; 7 grandchildren: Kristin Reddy, Lauri Sousa, Carolyn Martins, William Martins, Corey Martins, Kelsey Martins, and Maxwell Carter; 3 great-grandchildren:Aelis, Jordan and Evan as well as 2 nephews. Armando was also the father of the late William Martins and the brother of the late Lionel Martins.
His funeral will be Wednesday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at -9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 P.M.
