HAVERHILL: Angelina J. “Angie” (Squatrito) Powers, 93, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 in the Hannah Duston Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Powers who died in 2007.
Born in Quincy on September 28, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria (Demore) Squatrito. She was a graduate of Quincy High School and had resided in Quincy and Boston for many years before moving to Haverhill in 1942.
Angie was employed at several shoe manufacturing firms for many years before retiring from LeSande Shoe Co. in 1982. She was a communicant of St. James Parish and a former member of Sacred Hearts Parish in Bradford.
She is survived by her sister, Marie Rhodes of Los Angeles, California and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by four sisters, Adeline Spring, Ann Bibby, Josephine Brown and Christine DiBona and a brother, Joseph Squatrito.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in St. James Church, 185 Winter St., Haverhill at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
