Obituary

John “Jack” Cooke of Leicester, Massachusetts, formerly of Natick and South Yarmouth, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at the age of 92, surrounded by his loving family.

Jack was born on February 16, 1922 in Amherst, Nova Scotia and moved to Natick in 1948. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Whalen) Cooke for 62 years and a member of Hope Baptist Church in Dennis, Mass.

Mr. Cooke worked for F. Diehl & Son in Wellesley for 34 years and also loved woodworking. He made many beautiful items of furniture for family and friends, enjoyed gardening and always had a beautiful vegetable garden.

Jack was a dedicated Dad to all his children. He is survived by his three sons, Robert and his wife Lynne of Ashburnham, James and his wife Eva of Marlborough, John and his wife Carmela of Franklin and his two daughters Pamela Bruder and her husband Peter of Charlton and Julie Cooke and her husband Andrew Hatch of Washington, NH. He was predeceased by his son John James Jr.

Grandpa will be missed by his ten grandchildren, Stephen & Ryan Bruder, Corinne & Cailley Cooke, Andrew & Matthew Cooke, Owen Cooke, Roy Fabila and his wife Samantha, Eleanor Brook-Hatch and Serena Michell and her husband Bernard, and also three great grandchildren, Chase and Camryn Fabila and Indigo Michell.

Calling hours will be held at John Everett & Son Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common from 3:00 – 5:00PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. A memorial service celebrating his life will follow immediately thereafter.
