Obituary

Robert P. Richards, 72, of Walpole died suddenly February 10. He was the husband of Nancy (Shea) Richards.
Born in Boston, November 26, 1942, the son of the late Everett and Marion (Menghi) Richards, Mr. Richards was raised in Dedham and had lived in Walpole for the past 50 years.
Mr. Richards had been a cook at Norwood Hospital for many years and prior to that had worked as a cook at the former Mary Hartigan’s Restaurant in Dedham.
Mr. Richards served in the Navy during the early 1960’s.
Bob enjoyed gardening and was a fan of the local sports teams.
He along with his wife also had enjoyed going to his naval reunions around the Country.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Vaillancourt and her husband Paul of Greenville, New Hampshire and Julie O’Handley and her husband Jeff of Plainville.
He is also survived by his sisters, June Williams of Brockton and Nancy Connolly of Sharon. He was the brother of the late Wayne Richards and Beverley Young.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ashley and Aaron.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 17 in the Ginley Funeral Home, (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 892 Main Street, Walpole at 11:00a.m.
Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
