Obituary

John Thomas “Jack” Sullivan, age 76, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, passed away suddenly on February 8, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Jean Frances (Campbell) Sullivan.

Born and raised in Charlestown, Jack was the son of the late Daniel and Anne (Flynn) Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan was a graduate of St. Mary’s Elementary School in Charlestown, Charlestown High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was the well-known proprietor of Sullivan’s Pub in Charlestown. A friendly and sociable man, Jack cherished the many friendships he formed there, was always available to chat and keep up with the local activity, and was appreciative of his customers. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time at his home in Kingston, NH, with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by his children: JeanMarie Sullivan Feeney of Andover, John T. “Jackie” Sullivan Jr. and his wife Joanie of Stoneham, Erin Sullivan of Charlestown and Merry White and her husband Peter of Charlestown. He was also the loving grandfather of Jenna Zacher, Emma and Michael Feeney, Shauna and John T. “Jack” Sullivan, III, Harry and Cavan White and his great granddaughter, Lily Zacher. He is further survived by his siblings: Ann Marie Winkler of Bangor, ME, Eileen Kelly of Charlestown, Margaret “Peggy” Watts of Concord, Helen Cotter of Charlestown, Robert Sullivan of Everett, Judy Burns of Saugus and the late Daniel, Edward, Albert, Gerald and William Sullivan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jack’s Funeral on Saturday February 14 at 9AM from the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown followed by his funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Charlestown at 10AM. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4-8PM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
