Obituary

BERKLEY – Robert J. Duffy, husband of the late Norma (Bennett) Duffy, died at Morton Hospital on Feb. 8, 2015, following a long illness.
He was 81.

Born in Attleboro, he was the son of the late Ernest and Helena (Baril) Duffy.

Mr. Duffy was raised in Norton and graduated from Norton High School in 1951.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

A resident of Berkley for the past forty-eight years and well known in the town, he was a truck driver for over thirty years.

Among his many hobbies, Mr. Duffy enjoyed fishing, gardening and raising Koi fish.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Duffy of South Carolina and Robert J. Duffy, Jr. of Berkley;a daughter, Kelly A. Gouvia and her husband Stephen of Berkley; two brothers, James Duffy of North Carolina and Richard Duffy of Florida, eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the father of the late Shawn P. Duffy, and the brother of the late John Duffy and Jo-Ann Newbert.
Funeral Services were postponed, and will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway at St. Mary's Square in Taunton on Thursday, Feb. 19th at 7 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the services.
