Gerald “Jerry” T. Cribben, age 62, of Viera Florida, formerly of Brockton, died January 22, 2015. Born in Brockton, he was the son of Rita (Provost) and the late Harold Cribben. Jerry served in the United States Air Force for over 22 years. While in the service he was stationed at Pease Air Force Base, NH, Rhein Main Air Force Base, Germany, Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, Andrews Air Force Base, MD and Woomera, South Australia. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1995, Jerry and his family moved to Florida where he worked at Patrick Air Force Base for over seventeen years. He was active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockledge, FL as a lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Sacristan for many years and was currently a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Viera, FL. He had been active in the King Center for the Performing Arts Volunteer Corp. for several years. Jerry loved his God, his family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 34 years, Denise; a daughter and son-in-law Heather and Brian Vath; two grandsons, Justus and Matthias Vath of Viera, FL; a brother Robert and Ellen Cribben of Woodridge, NJ; three sisters Marie Cribben, Lisa and James Sheehan of Brockton, and Jeanne Cribben and Geri O’Hare of Morton, PA; three nephews, Michael and Kevin Cribben of Woodridge, NJ, and Seamus Sheehan of Brockton; two nieces Kelly and Eric Yaple, and Colleen Cribben of Woodridge NJ, and one great niece Riley Yaple of Woodridge, NJ. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jerry was the brother of the late David and Joseph Cribben.
Services were held in Viera, Florida. Burial will take place at a later date. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 429 West St., Brockton on March 21, 2015 at 4:00pm.
