Alice E. Penney

Alice E. Penney, 93, of Andover, formerly an 86-year resident of Winchester, passed away on Feb. 2, 2015. Born in Winchester on Jan. 28, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lyola (Joyce) Penney.

Ms. Penney was raised in Winchester and worked as a secretary at McCord Winn. In her spare time, Alice enjoyed many years of volunteering in the kitchen at the Immaculate Conception Church Bingo and Winchester Hospital. She also enjoyed playing games on Sunday afternoons with family and friends, making crafts, knitting, reading, scratch tickets and jigsaw puzzles.

Alice was the dear sister of the late Dorothy Penney, William E. “Eddie” Penney, Genevieve McKenney and Bertha Heitz. She was also the dear aunt of Robert Heitz and his wife Joann of Andover, Jayne (Heitz) Stevens of MD, Debra (Heitz) Pierzynski and her husband Robert of Lowell, Ellen (McKenney) Kauer and her husband Douglas of Woburn, David McKenney of Woburn, the late Donna (Heitz) Thies, and is further survived by several great-nieces and nephews and several dear friends. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church 155 Washington St., Winchester, on Fri., Feb. 6th at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours are omitted. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to NuPath, Inc., 147 New Boston St., Woburn, MA 01801.
