FALL RIVER… Dennis Medeiros, 87, of Fall River passed away January 25, 2015. He was the husband of Lorraine (Bowler) Medeiros for 68 years.
Born in Fall River a son of the late Joseph Medeiros and the late Mary Gloria (Silvia) Medeiros Henrique and had lived in Fall River most of his life. He worked for many years as a traffic manager and terminal manager in various trucking companies, retiring from the George Mann Company in 1990. He also served as a limousine driver for Hathaway Funeral Homes and drove for the Loomis Armored Car Service.
Mr. Medeiros was an Army Veteran of W.W.II. In recent years, he volunteered for the Coastline Elderly Services Money Management Program. He was a former member of the St. Anthony’s Band Club in Fall River and a Past Master of the Pioneer Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Somerset. He enjoyed golf, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife five children: Sharon Alves and her husband Manuel of Tiverton, Nancy Vieira and her husband Alan of St. Johnsbury, VT, Wayne Medeiros and his wife Sandy of Somerset, Dennis Medeiros, Jr. of New York, Dawn Ross and her husband Wayne of Westport. He also leaves nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. He is survived by a sister Marie Crawford and her husband Rick of Hummelstown, PA. He was brother of the late Leonil Medeiros, Evelyn Shea, Delores O’Donnell, and Joseph Medeiros II. He leaves many nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral services at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers donation may be sent to St. Judes Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
