Obituary

Raymond L. Leedberg, Sr., age 77, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed on January 28, 2015, after a long illness. He was the loving husband for 56 years to Carol M. (Ruggiero) Leedberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Theresa (Maiellano) Leedberg and his sister Mary Ann Homer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Raymond “Butch” Leedberg, Jr. and his wife Michelle, Debra Benko and her husband Rick, Teri Kolarevic and her husband Andre, and Pamela Leedberg and her companion Christopher Kenney; and four grandchildren, Butch and Michelle’s daughters, Ashley, Megan, Nicole and Teri and Andre’s son, Andre, Jr. He is also survived by his brothers Richard and Robert Leedberg and sisters Lorraine Smith and Linda Rivella. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and family friend George Harding.
Raymond was a Korean War Veteran who served with the US Air Force stationed in the Marshall Islands and around the world. For over 50 years he was a highly regarded and talented General Contractor, who shared his vast knowledge and skills with many. He enjoyed spending time with his family and beloved pets, vacationing, motocross, golf, boating and fishing, and was an avid Boston sports fan. Ray was Vice President of the Cape way Rovers Motocross Club and was a Referee throughout New England motocross tracks, where he made life long friends. He helped design and test the motocross starting gate system used at motocross and supercross races around the world.
Ray will be fondly remembered by many for his generosity and good hearted nature.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday 3-6pm. Burial will be at a later date at Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
