Obituary

SWIDNIK, POLAND/WEBSTER –Andrzej Eugeniusz Korczak, 71, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his home in Swidnik, Poland surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. His wife, Stanislawa Krystyna (Szeniawska) Korczak, died in 1995.
He leaves 2 daughters, Sylwia M. Kohut and her husband Stephen Thompson Kohut of Webster; Agata Sadlo and her husband Jacob Sadlo of Swidnik; and 4 grandchildren, Faustina Helen Kohut, and Matthew, Luke and John Sadlo of Swidnik.
He was born in Radom, Poland. He was awarded an engineering degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Warsaw. He lived in Swidnik most of his life.
Mr. Korczak was employed as an engineer at the helicopter division of PZL-Swidnik for many years before retiring.
An ardent history and geography buff, Andrzej enjoyed reading and studying maps. He took great pride in tending his own gardens in the countryside. He was a devoted father, loving “Dzadzi” and loyal friend.
His funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, January 12 in Christ the Redeemer Church, Swidnik followed by burial in Kazimierzowka Cemetery.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 7, in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street, Dudley. Local arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
