Obituary

Webster- Jeanette B. (Ozog) Godzik, 93, peacefully departed her earthly home to join her heavenly family on Sunday, January 25, 2015. Jeanette grew up in Whitinsville where she worked at the Whitin Machine Works. In 1950, she married Francis J. Godzik, a photographer and furniture business man, and together they moved to Webster, MA. It was there that they raised two beautiful daughters while Jeanette assisted in the operation of Frank’s photography business, Godzik Studio. Jeanette was an active member of the Webster Community. For many years, she participated in St. Joseph Church Groups, including the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club and the Brownie/Girl Scout Associations. For Jeanette, it was all about her family. They were always the first consideration of her life.
Jeanette will always be remembered by her daughters as a nurturing mom who instilled strong core values, both ethical and educational. She and Frank worked hard to provide the support to send both of their daughters through college and graduate level programs. Both girls have found success: Gail M. Arsenault of Thompson, CT. is a retired public school administrator who served the Northbridge School District for 36 years and is presently a consultant and professional development provider for the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; Dr. Cathleen A. Godzik is a practicing orthopedic surgeon who resides in Hollywood Hills, CA. Jeanette’s granddaughter, Julie C. Arsenault, is a graduate of MIT and works in marketing for a firm in San Francisco, CA. Jeanette is also survived by her sister, Blanche Sprague, of Upton, MA.
Jeanette made St. Camillus Health Center, 447 Hill St., Whitinsville, MA., her home in 2010 where she made many wonderful friends. She will always be grateful to the entire staff for making her time there both comfortable and cheerful. Jeanette will be missed, but never forgotten as she peers down at us all from her place of rest in heaven.
Written by Gail Arsenault in memory of her Mom and best friend
