Gloria Dale Jones, 61, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, January 26, 2015, at her residence.
Gravesides services will be held 4 PM, Friday, January 30, 2015, at Old Smyrna Cemetery in Uvalda, Georgia, with the Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Jones was born July 23, 1953 in Uvalda, Georgia to the late Robert Levi and Annie Lois Soles Chambers. She had lived in the community for over 40 years, moving from Marco Island, Florida, where she was a chef at a resort. She loved to cook and play softball. Mrs. Jones was a member of Christian Tabernacle.
She is survived by her husband: Darien Jones of Fitzgerald; sons: Robert William Johns of Fitzgerald and Harley C. Johns of Douglas; a brother: Johnny Chambers of Fitzgerald and five grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Dennis “Bill” Chambers and a sister: Shirley Ann Chambers.
