Robin R. Pichi, age 63, of Attleboro, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, January 26, 2015 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth A. (Wontkowski) Pichi to whom he was wed on February 14, 1981.
Born in Pawtucket, RI on May 31, 1951, he was a loving son of the late Roxy Pichi and Bettianne (Kohler) Pichi.
A lifelong Attleboro resident, Robin was a 1969 graduate of Bishop Feehan High School where he excelled in basketball and track and served as captain of the basketball team in his senior year.
Following graduation, Robin furthered his education and was a 1970 graduate of Bridgton Academy in Maine. He also attended Suffolk University in Boston, and later in life received his Associates Degree from New England Technical Institute.
For the past 13 years, Mr. Pichi had been employed as a Portfolio Administrator at State Street Corporation and had formerly worked for Paul Bourget & Associates in Woonsocket, Leach & Garner in Attleboro and at Morrison-Knudsen in Saudi Arabia.
Robin’s favorite times were those spent with his adoring family and the wonderful trips they shared throughout the years. He was an avid cyclist and was proud to have participated in the 2003 Pan-Mass Challenge in support of cancer patients and survivors.
He was an avid New England sports fan and his other interests included photography and listening to music of which his favorite artists included Elvis, the Beatles, the Beach Boys and Frank Sinatra.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted son: Matthew R. Pichi of Attleboro. He was the dear brother of Roxanne Sweetman of Arizona, Randy L. Pichi of California, Kimberly Kohler of Attleboro, and the late Rory R. Pichi and Ross A. Pichi. He is also survived by his cherished nieces: Alissa E. Sweetman and Ashley B. Sweetman both of Nevada. He was the dear son-in-law of the late Leo T. and Anna J. (Klumbis) Wontkowski.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 9:45 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 11:00 A.M. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main St., Attleboro. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery in Attleboro.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 30th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Robin’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
