Providence, RI – Maria A. Silva, age 82 of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Francisco Silva and the daughter of the late Conceicao J. (Pereira) and Antonio P. Goncalves.
Mrs. Silva was born in Terceira, Azores and moved to this country 36 years and has lived in this area since then .
Her family includes her daughter: Lucia Medeiros wife of John, of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren: Monica Medeiros of Fairhaven, and Liz Cahill of Norton, MA; 1 sister Maria Alice Ferreira of Terceira, Azores as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by several siblings.
Her funeral will be Friday beginning in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 – 11:30 A.M.
