Erica Harasyn Scott
Our beloved Erica Harasyn Scott, 48, of Ventura passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with melanoma skin cancer. She was born on April 1, 1966 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She was the daughter of Barbara Harasyn Benson and the late Harry Harasyn and grew up in the Conejo Valley.
She attended Agoura High School, graduating in 1984, and then attending and graduating from California State University Northridge in Home Economics / Business in 1989. After decades in interior design, Erica most recently worked in finance with the Superior Courts of Ventura County.
She married Steve Scott of Ventura in 1991 and welcomed two beautiful daughters; Ashley Rene, 21, and Caitlin Nicole, 18.
She made her home in Ventura for the past twenty-four years and was very involved in the kids’ soccer and school activities.
She embraced life to the fullest and always had the most positive attitude. Her strength is truly inspirational, never once backing down from the fight. Erica is survived by her daughters, Ashley Scott and Caitlin Scott; her mother Barbara Benson; her brothers Craig Harasyn and John Harasyn; her little dog Ohana; and many other family and friends.
A public memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 11am at the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME in Ventura. A private family burial will follow.
