METHUEN – Michael J. Rickard, Sr., 61, of Methuen passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 21, 2015.
Born and educated in Methuen, he was the son of Raymond and Catherine (Nutton) Rickard and was a graduate of Tenney High School. Michael served in the U.S. Army. For 15 years he was employed with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts DOT.
Michael was actively involved with the local Boy Scouts, enjoyed fishing, playing golf and was an avid sports fan. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Donna M. (Garrigan) Rickard of Methuen. Michael also leaves his children, Michael J. Rickard, Jr., and his wife Linda also of Methuen, Melissa J. Tarbox and her husband Roderick of Berlin, NH and Christopher J. Rickard and his wife Patricia of Woburn, MA; one brother, Raymond Rickard and his wife Marie of East Brookfield. Grandchildren, Catherine E. Tarbox, Michael J. Rickard, III, Ilene Rickard and Ava Rickard. Several nieces and nephews. Michael was predeceased by his brother Robert.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Monday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Prayer Services Monday at 8:00p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
