Mary E. (Soares) Sears of Raynham since 1959, formerly of Taunton, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 22, 2015 at Morton Hospital. Mrs. Sears was 87 years old. She is reunited with her husband the late Edward J. Sears. Mary is survived by her loving daughter Leanne Piekarski and her husband Bob of Raynham. Mrs. Sears leaves behind her grandson Will Roy and his fiancé Shannon Hollenbeck of Raynham. She also leaves behind 2 nieces, 2 nephews and several cousins. Mary was predeceased by her parents the late Louis and Marion Soares, her sister the late Louise Perry Pimental and her son-in-law the late Willie Roy.
Mary was born on March 1, 1927 in Taunton. Family was incredibly important to Mary and she loved spending time with her grandson, Will. She and her husband Edward, loved taking their yearly trips to beautiful Lake George, NY with their daughter and her family. Mary’s family and many others would tell you how pleasant and sweet of a soul she was.
Mrs. Sears was a talented singer and pianist. She enjoyed reading and crocheting and participating in the activities with her fellow resident s at the Wedgemere Golden Living Center in Taunton. Mary will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements under the care of Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St. (off Rte. 140/Tremont St.) Taunton. Cremation took place at Woodlawn-North Purchase Crematory in Attleboro.
