Eleanore Marie Montgomery (Williamson) passed away Monday, January 19th at age 92 with family by her side. A longtime resident of Weymouth, Eleanore was very active in the Old South Union Church including the Parish Guild, the Women’s Club, the M & M Club and the Easter Luncheon Committee for nearly 75 years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by many.
The wife of the late Arkie Montgomery, Eleanore is survived and lovingly remembered by her six children and their spouses; Carla and Donald Park, Steven and Diane Montgomery, Janet and Charles Long, Eric and Stacy Montgomery, Lynne and Robert Gillis and Robert and Rebecca Montgomery. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; Kristy Palmer and her husband Mark, Scott Montgomery and his wife Adrienne, Heather Long, Ashley Montgomery and her husband Wade, Alex Montgomery, Katelyn Montgomery and Megan Gillis; a step great-granddaughter, Ayla Palmer, and a great-granddaughter, Baby Palmer, arriving in June.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31st at Old South Union Church, 25 Columbian Street, South Weymouth at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in South Weymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Eleanore to the Old South Union Church Memorial Committee, 25 Columbian Street, South Weymouth, MA 02190.
