John J. Scannell, 67 of Londonderry, NH died Wednesday January 21, 2015 at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. John was born in Winchester, MA on May 26, 1947 a son of the late Walter and Margaret (Foley) Scannell. He had been employed as a commercial truck driver for 17 years, many of those years working for Fresh Valley Foods in Haverhill, MA. In earlier years John enjoyed owning and riding horses, and more recently loved to work on his trucks.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan (Hansen) Scannell of Londonderry, two sons, Ethan J. Scannell of Londonderry, and Sean F. Scannell of Pensacola, FL, two daughters, Lauren Gamache and her husband Richard of Hubbardston, MA, and Jaclyn Kelley and her husband Paul of Merrimac, MA, and two grandchildren, Alana and Madelyn Kelley. John also leaves many nieces, nephews and one cousin.
Calling hours were held on Sunday January 25, 2015 from 3 – 6pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services was held on Monday at 10:00am in the funeral home with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-9376.
