Margarita Moniz, age 77, of Fall River, passed away at St. Anne’s Hospital on January 18, 2015. Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores she was the loving wife of Jaime DaSilva Moniz and daughter of the late Antonio and Margarida (Torres) Carvalho. She was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the Rosary Sisters. She always cared for everyone and loved knitting and cooking.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her daughters Noemia Camara, Ana Soares and Grace Machado; siblings Conçeicão Rego and João Luis Carvalho; 6 grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Nelia Moniz and siblings Jose Carvalho, Maria José Do Rego Carvalho, Maria Lourdes Cabral and Maria Dos Anjos Cabral.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on FRIDAY here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. Calling hours on THURSDAY from 5-8 P.M. Cremation to follow. www.rogersfuneral.com.
