Hilda R. (Lawson) Braley 99 passed away on Sunday January 18 after a period of failing health.
Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman, she was the daughter of the late J. Ludwig and Mabel Arita (White) Lawson.
Hilda had been known for her talent in the making and decorating of cakes for family gatherings and weddings. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots and had enjoyed bowling, and traveling as well as her baking. She was truly fond of her loving dogs.
She leaves behind a son Richard Braley and his wife Judith of Whitman as well as 6 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many devoted nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Carlton Sr., her son Carlton, Jr. aka Jesse, and her daughter Barbara Reeder, also her sisters Merle Rogerson, Virgil Hewitt and Maizie Matthews
Visiting hours will be held Friday January 23 from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A graveside service will be held Saturday January 24 at 11:00 AM in the Central Cemetery, Main Street, Carver.
