Obituary

Mary (Lever) Osgood, 93, passed away on Monday morning, January 12th, 2015 at Mary Immaculate after a courageous fight with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Yorkshire, England, she is the daughter of the late Harvey Lever and Ellen Brophie.

Mary came to America via Ellis Island at four years old and settled with her family in Lawrence, Massachusetts. She worked as a secretary at the Universalist Unitarian Church and Sutherland’s for many years before working at Haffner’s. Mary adored her children and grandchildren, taking them to Disney World and Disney on Ice. She loved treating her family to Easter brunch, spending time with the girls, and Sundays with her family. Mary took great pride in her home and loved knitting, antiquing, and reading. She was an avid Red Sox fan, particularly “Big Papi.” She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Russell and her siblings Frank, Harvey, and Adelaide. She is survived by her brother-in-law Donald and his wife Jan of Doraville, Georgia; Sons Russell Osgood and his wife Colette, of Pembroke, NH; Steve Osgood, of Methuen; Daughter-in-law Jeannette McKenzie, of Haverhill; Grandsons Ben Osgood, of San Francisco; Jonathan Osgood, of Boulder; Jeff Osgood, his wife Shannon, and their sons Patrick and Evan, of Haverhill; Matt Osgood, his wife Kristin, and their daughter Avery, of Haverhill; Tim Osgood and his wife Alyson, of Amesbury; And many nieces and nephews.

There will be family-only services, but, in lieu of flowers and calling hours, please consider donating to Alzheimer’s research at alz.org, or the fight against ALS at alsa.org. The Osgood family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Mary Immaculate for the dedicated and compassionate care with which they provided Mary. The Kenneth H.
