WEBSTER – Teresa (Janiszewski) Olds, 81, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at home surrounded by her family after a courageous ten year battle with cancer.
She leaves her husband of 53 years, Clifford J. Olds; 2 sons, David C. Olds and his longtime companion Beauty, and Matthew J. Olds; 2 grandchildren, Corey J. Ali and Kristin M. Ali; 2 sons-in-law, Craig G. Ali and his wife Lisa, and Michael E. Berthiaume, all of Webster; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula M. Ali in 2009, by 2 sisters, Gertrude Kaczynski and Dorothy Seilius, and by 2 brothers, Edmund and Richard Janiszewski. She also leaves her family’s dogs Bandit, Max and Sadie.
She was born and raised in Worcester, the youngest child of John and Anna (Golas) Janiszewski. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1952 and moved to Webster when she married in 1961.
Mrs. Olds first worked as a secretary and payroll clerk at Norton’s and at Gulf Oil. She was a homemaker all her married life.
She was a communicant of Saint Louis Church. She enjoyed going to the Hanover Theatre, concerts, shopping and bus trips to the casino. A daredevil, she loved the thrill of roller coasters. Her treasure was her family.
The funeral will be held Friday, January 16, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 to PM Thursday, January 15, in the funeral home.
