Janet L. “Pinky” Reynolds (Libby) of Taunton passed away peacefully on the afternoon of January 8, 2015 at Golden Living-Wedgemere Nursing Home in Taunton. Mrs. Reynolds was 81 years old. Janet was the beloved wife of 51 years of Edward Reynolds of Taunton. She was the loving mother of Donna Medeiros of Taunton, John Leonard and his wife Sharon of Middleboro, the late Arthur Leonard and the late Donald Leonard, Jr. Mrs. Reynolds was a proud grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 18. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews including Michael Bernard. Janet had a special bond with all of her family, especially her grandson Eddie Leonard and his wife Jessica of Taunton.
Janet was born on March 30, 1933 in Middleboro, daughter of the late Arthur and Violet (Morse) Libby. She was employed as an assembler at the Beacon Felt Co. for almost 25 years but, the work Janet was most proud of in life was being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Reynolds loved children and it showed by the time and energy she donated to them, especially when Christmas shopping as she wouldn’t stop until every child had a gift.
Mrs. Reynolds and her husband enjoyed “playing the dogs” at the Raynham-Taunton Dog Track in their younger years and a few times even made it to Foxwoods to enjoy some gambling. She had a talent as a card player and enjoyed playing Bingo. The qualities that will forever be remembered about Janet however was the love for her family she had, especially for her grandchildren who will never forget making her famous Pistachio Cupcakes with her. Mrs. Reynolds will be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday January 11th from 4-6pm at Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St (off Tremont St./Route 140) Taunton. A graveside service will be held on Monday January 12th at 10:30am in Nemasket Hill Cemetery in Middleboro. Online Condolences may be made at www.tauntonfuneral.com.
