Patsy Cofer Pendergrass Obituary - Water Valley MS

Patsy Cofer Pendergrass, age 71, went to her heavenly home on Friday, January 2, 2015 at University Medical Center of Grenada, MS. She was born September 12, 1943 in Calhoun County, MS to the late James “Jimmy” Hornsby and Gatha Potts Cofer. Patsy was a member of First Baptist Church of Coffeeville, MS a former member of the Water Valley CB club, and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 488 in Grenada, MS. Patsy was retired from Grenada Lake Medical Center in Grenada, MS where she worked as an LPN. She enjoyed playing Bingo and card games, crocheting, cooking, and working crossword puzzles. Patsy was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 7, 2015 at 10:00 am in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Ken Sally, Bro. Truman Scarborough and Bro. Tracy officiating. Burial will be in the Elam Cemetery in Yalobusha County, MS with James Aston, Steven Aston, James Pendergrass, Brett Pendergrass, Nathan Hill and Anthony Cox serving as pallbearers. Will Aston, James Potts, Ron Cox, Gabe Crumley and Garrett Crumley will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Patsy is survived by her three daughters, Deborah (Robert) Aston of Calhoun City, MS, Donna (David) Hill of Bruce, MS and Dianne (Eddie) Brewer of Coffeeville, MS; two sons, David (Neysa) Pendergrass of Forrest City, AR and John Pendergrass of Memphis, TN; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; her sister, Lois (Marshall) Gilmer;her brothers,Bill(Ann) Cofer and Bobby (Judy) Cofer; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. D. Pendergrass, her son, James Aubrey Pendergrass, two sisters, Vergie Campbell and Betty Cox; and her brother, Jim Cofer.
