Howard J. Peck, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 31, 2014 surrounded by his family.
He was born April 16, 1938 to Howard B. and Angeline (Williams) Peck.
After graduating from Milford High School in Milford, CT, he went on to graduate with an engineering degree from Central Connecticut State University. He retired in 2001 from Dorr-Oliver Corporation.
Mr. Peck also served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years.
Howard was a longtime resident of Redding, CT. where he raised his three daughters on a steady diet of hard work and strong values, before moving to Thompson 13 years ago.
He volunteered frequently for the Connecticut Forest and Park Association and was a member of the Wetlands Committee in Thompson. He maintained the Old Furnace Trail for several years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Milford, CT. and was also a 32 degree Mason.
Howard enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid tennis player.
Howard is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Patricia K. (Watrous) Peck,his daughters, Sharon K. wife of Robert E. Huettner of Henniker, N.H., Janice R. wife of Thomas R. Sioui of Boylston, MA., and Tricia L. wife of David J. Turska of Independence, OH., 5 grandchildren; Michael Huettner, Ashley and Dawson Turska, Jocelyn and Tamara Sioui, and a brother, Glenn Peck of Berthoud, CO.
Howard was predeceased by a son, Keith B. Peck and a sister, Ruth Ann Peck.
A ‘Celebration of his Life’ will take place in the spring.
Visitation Hours will be Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 2-4 PM at the ROBERT J. MILLER FUNERAL HOME and LAKE CHAPEL, 366 School St., Webster, MA.
Burial will be Private at Skiff Mountain-Peck Cemetery in Kent, CT.
