Elvira (Gonsalves) Cordeiro, age 56, of Somerset passed away Dec. 30, 2014. Born in Santo António, Alem Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the wife of James Cordeiro and the daughter of Maria Merces (Aguiar) Goncalves and the late Guilherme Goncalves. She was a parishioner of Saint Louis de France Church, a Captain of the St. Louis de France Royal Century Club, and a member of the Liberal Club Holy Ghost Feast.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her Children: Melissa Cordeiro Rego of Fall River and Eric Cordeiro of Westport; Siblings: George & Joseph Gonsalves both of Somerset, Alfred Gonsalves of Tiverton, Gilbert, Octavio, Augustine, & Lydia Gonsalves all of Fall River; Grandchildren: Kyle Medeiros & Dylan Cordeiro; and many nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on MONDAY at 8:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Louis de France Church, Swansea at 9:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
