Hannah E. Straus, a resident of North Andover and beloved daughter of Elizabeth R. (Ross) Straus of North Andover and Kenneth M. Straus of Exeter, NH, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday morning, December 14, 2014. She was 21 years old.
Hannah was born in Johnson City, New York, on December 29, 1992. She has been a resident of North Andover since age 4 and was a graduate of the North Andover Public School system. She had also attended Wheelock College in Boston. Hannah loved being around the water and had worked as a Life Guard for several summers. She also loved Synchronized Swimming and was a coach for the sport. Hannah had a special love for animals and enjoyed helping children with developmental challenges. She will be dearly missed.
Besides her mother and father, Hannah is survived by her loving brother; Aaron W. Straus of North Andover, grandparents J. W. Ross of Ponte Verda, Florida and Lawrence W. Straus of Pittsburgh, PA, aunt; Suzanne (Ross) and her husband William A. Tullis of Charlotte, NC, uncle; Ira Straus of Arlington, VA and cousin; Lionel Straus of Annandale, VA. She was also the granddaughter of the late Elizabeth (Lyon) Ross and Doris O. Straus.
Her funeral service will be celebrated in the North Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 190 Academy Road, North Andover on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Friday, January 2, 2015, from 4 to 7 PM.
