Lewis L. Gifford, 79, of Dartmouth, peacefully passed away at home on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Lorna M. (Moceuk ) Gifford, whom he was married to for 53 years.
Born and raised in Dartmouth, son of the late Alton D. and Susan (Jones) Gifford, he was a lifelong resident of the town. Prior to his retirement, he worked at Hixville Auto Parts for 42 years. He was also a firefighter for Dartmouth Fire District 3 from 1970-1979. Mr. Gifford took much pride in his family especially his girls. He enjoyed taking care of his animals and he was always outdoors.
Along with his wife, survivors include his daughter: Debra Frade and her husband Kevin of Dartmouth; 4 granddaughters: Kristi Frade and her husband John Monteiro, Kara Frade, Kelsey Frade and Katelyn Frade, all of Dartmouth; his great grandson: Landon Monteiro; 2 sisters: Jennie Reed of Dartmouth and Winnie Wooten of Livingston, TX; 1 brother: Alton D. Gifford, Jr.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The Gifford Family would like to give a special thanks to the amazing physicians, nurses and staff who selflessly took the time to care for Mr. Gifford, it is truly appreciated.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, December 29, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery in Dartmouth at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
