Obituary

In Taunton, December 20, 2014 Timothy P. Gallagher, Passed away at Morton Hospital while surrounded by his loving family. Timothy is survived by his loving wife Joan (Gilbert) Gallagher of Taunton. He was born in Dighton, MA on June 24, 1941, the son of the late William and Lillian (Corrigan) Gallagher. Timothy attended Taunton schools and furthered his education while serving in the Marine Corp for four years. Following his discharge from the Marines he began working for the United Parcel Service enjoyed every day until his Multiple Sclerosis forced him to retire. He then volunteered for twenty eight years at the information desk at Morton Hospital, again enjoying helping people and meeting many wonderful friends. Following his time at Morton Hospital, Tim was busier than ever managing household matters. Tim married his loving wife Joan and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in June. He also leaves his two daughters Katy Wooley and her husband Ron and Kerry Rebolo and her husband Alan. Bumpa leaves his loving grandchildren Griffin and Beckett Wooley and Murphy and Maddox Rebolo. He also leaves his brothers Fran and his wife Susan, Bill and his wife Ann and his twin brother Tom and his wife Jean, Bob and his wife Paula and his only sister Rosemary and her husband Robert Hunter and his brother in law Bob Gilbert and his wife Judy and sister in law Laura Lukasewski. Tim also leaves 23 nieces and nephews who were very much a part of his life. Tim also leaves his many close friends. Tim was also grateful for the wonderful help he received from his home health aides Donna, Kathy, Dawn, Bea and Estelle who came for years and were part of his family. Timothy enjoyed sports, especially the Patriots, music, the computer, television shows, watching Mass and the Rosary on tv and trips to Disney with the family and summers at the family compound on Cape Cod. Most of all he cherished his time with his grandchildren and all his family. Timothy will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, love and his sense of humor that will remain in our hearts forever. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, December 29th from 9:30-10:30 am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11 am. Burial will be private at the request of the family.
