Obituary

Leo C. Lamontagne, Sr. 73, a resident of Lawrence, MA died on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the Salem Haven Nursing Home.

He was born in Lawrence on February 15, 1941 to David & Rose (Montana) Lamontagne Sr. He was educated in local schools in Lawrence. Leo served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961.

He worked at various companies throughout the Merrimack Valley including Bolta Rubber Company, Lawrence, Gillette, Andover, He also worked as a Boiler Man at Lawrence General and Bon Secours hospitals as well as at the Everett Mills. Leo continued to work right up until July of this year, full time, as a security guard at the Everett Mills. He was a proud member of the Lawrence Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. #65.

Leo leaves one son Leo C. Lamontagne Jr. and his wife Anne of Andover, his grandchildren Troy and Ashley Lamontagne of Andover. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers: Russell and his wife Judy Lamontagne of Texas, sister Elaine and John Scanlon of Lawrence, brother Rene Lamontagne of Lawrence, sister-in-law Rose Lamontagne of Windham, NH, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sisters: Rita Higginbottom, Irene Desrosiers, Doris Gauthier, Alice Higginbottom, Jeannette Hartling and Rose Lawrence, and brothers: David Lamontagne Jr. and Robert Lamontagne.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 7:00PM.
