Obituary

Mr. Everett F. “Doc” Souza, of Berkley, died Friday, December 19 in the Life Care Center of Raynham following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Jean E. (Dupont) Kingsley-Souza. He was born 88 years ago in Kingston, Ma., the son of the late Manuel and Rose (Moonish) Souza. Doc was educated in Kingston and Plymouth and had been a Berkley resident for the past 38 years. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a long distance truck driver for the former Old Colony Trucking Company. He was previously employed by Consolidated Freightways, Royce Aluminum, and Perkins Paper. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Doc was a member of the Teamster’s Union, the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 57, and the Berkley American Legion, Post 121. He enjoyed caring for his birds and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Trista.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 2 daughters: Justine Kingsley-Ferreira of Atlanta, Ga., and Erika Kingsley of Taunton; his granddaughter: Trista Kingsley of Taunton. Doc also leaves: 2 sons: Everett F. Souza, Jr. of N.H., and Wayne Souza of Tx.; 2 daughters: Sandra Sheperd of In., and Lynn Weaver of N.H.; 1 sister: Florence Geltz of Bridgewater
and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Tony, Joe, Augie, Manuel, David and Linda.
Visiting Hours will be held at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, December 23, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
