WORCESTER-
Grace M. (Hicks) McManus, 93, of Whitinsville, formerly of Worcester passed away Thursday, December 18 in her home at Whitney Place.

Predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, George F. McManus in 1998, Grace is survived by two sons, George F. McManus, Jr. of Chatham and Gerald W. McManus of Whitinsville. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, Steven McManus, Jennifer Martinez, David McManus, Stacy Stephenson & Amy Cole, 6 great-grandchildren, Justin, Matthew, Taylor, Kaitlin, Spencer & Rosalie; her younger sister, Christine Howe of Southbridge, many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Besides her husband, Grace was predeceased by a daughter, Eileen Rita Moore, a brother, Walter C. Hicks, Jr. and a sister, Barbara M. McClure. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Walter C. and Ethel T. (Grace) Hicks and attended Commerce High School.

Grace retired as a supervisor of the former State Mutual Insurance Company. In her retirement she spent 26 years living in Port Richie, FL. She returned to Massachusetts later in life to be around her family. Grace enjoyed playing cards, reading a good book and watching her favorite baseball teams the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays. Grace treasured her memories of fall foliage trips and Sunday drives with her husband George. She also enjoyed her road trips to Chatham for lobsters & steamers. Grace was happiest spending time with her two sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren sharing life’s special moments, big & small.

Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Friday December 26 4-6pm at CALLAHAN~FAY AND CASWELL Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St . Her funeral will be held Saturday December 27th at 10am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St.Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.Grace’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks Heather Hough and her exceptional staff at Whitney Place Assisted Living for their outstanding companionship, care & support of Grace throughout her illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salmon Home Care, 37 Birch St., Milford, 01757.
