Ms. Collette A. Murphy, of Taunton and formerly of Stuart, Fla., died Tuesday, December 16 in Longmeadow of Taunton following a lengthy illness. She was born 69 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Leo F. and Rita C. (Piche) Murphy. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former Bishop Cassidy High School in 1963, and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Stonehill College in Easton and St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Medical Technology in Worcester. Prior to her retirement, Collette was employed as a Manager for General Electric Biomedical in Jupiter, Fla. She was previously employed by Marquette Medical Services in Kansas City, Kansas, and was formerly employed by Johnson & Johnson, PPG Biomedical, and the Equipment for Medicine Corp. She was a member of the Association for Medical Technologists. Collette enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and traveling. She was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Parish in Taunton.
She leaves: 1 sister: Bernadette Milot and her husband, Edmund of Taunton; 2 nieces: Emily Milot of Alexandria, Va., and Rebecca Milot of Oxford, England; 3 aunts: Sr. Bernadette, S.U.S.C., Beatrice E. Piche, and Jayne Murphy; an uncle: William O’Brien, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, December 23 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
