Obituary

Mary Jane Gagnon, 75 of Methuen passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2014 surrounded by her children. Mary was born on May 27, 1939 to the late James Howard Boyd and Dorothy (Thompson) Boyd. She was the long time proprietor of Central Yellow Cab Company of Lawrence. Mary owned and operated the cab company from a very young age until 1988. She also worked as a home health aide for disabled adults through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in North Andover . She cared very deeply for the men in her care saying, β€œit wasn't just a job – I loved them as if they were my own.” She enjoyed needle point crafts, and her Saturday morning shopping sprees....forever looking for bargains. Mary found comfort and happiness with her family & pets.

Mary was the loving wife of the late Armand A. Gagnon with whom she shared 40 years of marriage. She was the devoted and beloved mother of James Gagnon of Bradford, David A. Gagnon of Barrington, NH, Paul A. Gagnon and his wife Angie of Richland, WA, and Ellen Gagnon-Hill and her husband Joel of Salem, NH. Mary was the cherished grandmother of Thomas Dubois, Sarah Gagnon, Paul Gagnon, Natalie Gagnon, Danielle Gagnon and Courtney Kent.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, December 19 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Christian Burial Mass will be celebrated at 9am on Saturday, December 20, at St Monica's Parish, Methuen. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery of Methuen.
