Obituary

Marcel Gladu 88, of Ridge St. died Tuesday December 16, 2014 at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Harnois) Gladu. Born in Woonsocket, June 24, 1926 he was a son of the late Albert and Marie (Chaput) Gladu. Marcel was the owner and operator of Gladu’s Wrecking and Recycling for sixty years. Marcel was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Veterans Association, the Cercle Laurier, and the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks #850.

He is survived by two sons Dennis Gladu and his wife Virginia, and David Gladu, a daughter Donna Lahousse and her husband David, a sister Lena Lamoureux, all of Woonsocket, five grandchildren, Jessica, Kayla, Krystal, Kaylee, and Kelsee, and two great grandchildren McKenzie and Alex. He was also the father of the late Richard Gladu, and brother of the late Albert “Pete” Gladu.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., with at Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting Hours are Friday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph’s Church, 1200 Mendon Rd. Woonsocket, in his memory would be appreciated.
