Obituary

DONNELLY, Joseph P., Resident of Boston his entire life, passed away on December 12, 2014 at the age of 93. He joins his wife of sixty two years, Eileen, who passed away only three months ago. Joe served his country as a gunner for the US Army Air Corps during WW II. He joined the Boston Police force upon his return home. After graduating from Northeastern University, he became a probation officer for Suffolk County. He always loved a good laugh and was known for his jokes. He had a great voice and would sing at any family gathering. 

Preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Mary, John (Jack), Eleanor Ryan, Dorothy Stowe, Richard, Rita Bills, Gertrude, Patricia McLaughlin, and Anne Williams. He was a devoted father to Patrick Donnelly and his wife Rene of Wilmington, Delaware; Thomas Donnelly of Medfield and Charles Donnelly and his wife Pamela of Walpole. He was the loving grandfather to Joe, Phil, Shannon, Kate, Cameron, Michelle, Sean, Christopher and Matthew. 

Funeral from the P.E. Murray-F.J. Higgins, George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 2000 Centre St., WEST ROXBURY, Tuesday, Dec. 23 at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Theresa Church, West Roxbury at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting Hours on Monday, Dec. 22 from 4-8pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
