New Bedford – Julieta Amaral, age 81 of New Bedford, passed away on , December 16, 2014 at home with her family at her side. She was the loved wife of 61 years to the late Jose X. Amaral who passed away earlier this year and the daughter of Maria daConceicao (Albino) and Jose Amaral. Mrs. Amaral was born in St. Michael, Azores, moved to this country in 1967 and worked at Carol Cable Co. as a Line Worker and also worked for Sunrise bakery with her children with pride every day.
She is survived by her 9 children: Manuel Amaral and Joe Amaral, both of Dartmouth, Arthur Amaral of Lakeville, Antonio Amaral of Dartmouth, Inez Pacheco of Westport, Louise Amaral of Dartmouth, John Amaral and Jimmy Amaral of Dartmouth, and Lisa Amaral of New Bedford; 2 brothers Silvino Amaral of New Bedford and Jose Amaral of California ; as well as 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be Friday, December 19 beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. and continuing with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will take place in the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are welcomed to attend.
