Paul T. Proia age 74 of Canton passed away December 14th at the Norwood Hospital. Born and raised in Newton, he graduated from Newton High School and has lived in Canton for the last 29 years. He worked as a Crew Chief for Polaroid Corp. for many years before retiring in 2004. After retiring Paul worked part time at Shaws in Canton and as a Crossing Guard for the Canton Public Schools. Beloved husband of Maureen A. (McDonald). Father of Paul Proia of Watertown, Mark Proia and his wife Sharon of Hopedale and Andrew Proia and his wife Monica of North Reading. Stepfather of Michael Young and his wife Emily of Lunenburg. Brother of Anthony Proia of AZ, Joanne Kearney of Hudson and Thomas Proia of Concord. Also survived by 6 grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Thursday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Friday morning at 10:30.
