Obituary

Harold David Hunger, age 66 of La Grange passed away on December 15, 2014, at his home, in his sleep after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Harold was born on May 31, 1948 in La Grange to August Otto Hunger and Olga Julia Albrecht Hunger. Harold married Peggy Buscha on July 18, 1970 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange. He served his country in the National Guard from 1967-1973. He was a retired Asst. Maintenance Foreman with the Texas Highway Department. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange, the Adult Choir, the Ensemble Choir and a life member of NRA. Harold enjoyed raising cattle, woodworking, carpentry, fishing, cookery and especially deer hunting.
Harold is survived by his wife Peggy of La Grange; one son, Heath Dereck Hunger of La Grange; one brother, Eugene Hunger and his wife Carolyn of La Grange; one sister-in-law, Ginger Faith and her husband Mike of Conroe; mother-in-law, Lillian Rody Moerbe Buscha of La Grange; five nieces, Brenda Ahlschlager and husband Dennis of La Grange, Marsha Pietsch and husband Larry of La Grange, Christine Wallace and husband Blake of Kyle, Angela Stewart and husband Brian of Euless and Rebecca Blandin and husband Wade of Plano; one nephew, Darrell Hunger of La Grange; two great-nieces Brittni Ahlschlager and Brianna Ahlschlager, both of La Grange; one great-nephew, Nolan Blandin of Plano.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law Raymond Buscha.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday December 19, 2014 from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday December 20, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange with Rev. Bill Qualman officiating.
Pallbearers are Darrell Hunger, Darrell Moerbe, Danny Moerbe, Blake Wallace, Joe McCullough and Mike McCullough. Honorary pallbearers are Heath Hunger, Eugene Hunger, Mike Faith and Kenneth Peters.
Interment will follow in the Black Jack Springs Cemetery near O’Quinn.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange.
