Robert Spalding Shelton, 87,…..On this date December 13, 2014, Robert Spalding Shelton, born on January 6, 1927, went over the Smokies for the last time, going home to be with his heavenly Father,
his Wife and family.
He was born in Louisville, KY to Robert William & Mary Emma (Spalding) Shelton.
Robert was a retired Patrolman for Louisville Division of Police, with 28 years service, a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, a U.S. Navy WW II Veteran, and Fraternal Order of Police.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, his loving wife of 56 years Mary Elizabeth (Cross) Shelton and a Brother: Roger Gene Shelton.
Survivors include his Daughters: Linda F. Byrd (Roger D.) and Debra J. Wilson (Bill Murphy);
4 Grandchildren: Robert D. Hill, Jody L. Hill (Christi), Marty D. Byrd (Jenny), and Sara F. Byrd (Ross); 4 Great Grandchildren: Josh, Anthony, Kindall and Kinzlee Hill;
and many Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 2:00 – 8:00 PM
